Transformation from Building Services to Facilities Management

Target is a leading American retail chain with more that 1,900 store locations in the United States and Canada and nearly $75B in annual revenue. In the 2000’s the retail industry and Target continued to achieve aggressive growth and market share. However, in 2007, the financial crisis that hit also affected corporations and how they do business. Della joined Target and led the business effort to build the organizational capabilities and management effort for the new Facilities Management strategy. The strategy was focused on the 2,000 facilities management field personnel.

Della, with a HQ team of ten, collaborated on the effort with multiple departments within Target to craft and execute strategies to reduce facility management costs while improving the site’s infrastructure and guest experience.
